From challenge to cash, every step explained.
PlayStake handles the entire wagering flow, from the initial challenge through referee assignment and instant payout. Here is exactly how it works.
Send a Bet Request
Challenge a friend or another player to an EA SPORTS FC 27 or Tekken 8 match. Both of you stream on Kick, pick the game and set the stake.
- Choose the game
- Set the stake amount
- Opponent gets notified
Opponent Accepts
Your opponent receives the challenge and accepts. The moment they accept, both stakes are set aside for the match and neither player can use them until the match is decided.
- Stakes set aside instantly
- Both players confirmed
- Safe to cancel before opponent accepts
Load the Game
Both players launch the game on their preferred platform. PlayStake runs in the background on your phone, tablet, or browser with no need to switch devices mid-match.
- TV, console, mobile, or PC
- Keep PlayStake open in background
- Fund your wallet before you start
Select Your Referee
Both players must agree before the match starts
Before play begins, both players agree how the match will be monitored. Today that means a verified human referee alongside automatic dual-source result checks — an instant AI referee is in development and will become an option here once it launches.
AI Referee
In development: a deterministic rules engine that will validate results directly from game event data and clear settlement in seconds, with anything ambiguous escalated to a human.
- Deterministic rules engine
- Settles in seconds
- In development — not yet live
Human Referee
A verified human referee is matched to your game. They join the lobby and confirm when both players are ready to start.
- Live match spectator
- Manual confirmation
- Avg. match found in under 5 mins
Referee Confirms & Pays Out
Once the game ends, the referee confirms the final result. After the 15-minute dispute window, the winner's payout lands in their PlayStake wallet.
- Winner paid instantly
- Disputes handled within 24 hrs
- Disconnect protection included
